Movies from Hollywood, Bollywood and Lollywood are all releasing this weekend. It will be a mix of action, thriller, romance and comedy, and an entertaining long weekend for all Pakistanis. Here is a list of movies due for release this Eid-ul-Fitr.
This is a romantic, dramatic survival story, of two sailing aficionados, Tami (Shailene Woodley) and Richard (Sam Claflin). Thye unknowingly sail into one of the most catastrophic hurricanes ever, and it is upon Tami to save herself and rescue her fiancé.
This is one of my favorites releasing this Eid, because its horror! Yay! It also has a 93% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes so, like, this one is a MUST watch.
The story is based around the Graham family. When their mother passes away, the daughter, Annie (why are all the girls in horror movies named Anne/Annie/Anna/Annabelle???), discovers cryptic and very scary secrets about their maternal lineage.
3. Hotel Artemis
This is set in a futuristic, dystopian Los Angeles, and follows the story of a nurse who runs a secret hospital for criminals. The hospital has all kinds of rules that the patients all have to abide by, but all of that is put to test when a very valuable object is brought within the premises of the hospital. Starring Jodie Foster, this movie is supposed to have high octane action and impressive performances.
4. The Incredibles 2
The sequel to the super successful Incredibles, this movie has been much-awaited, taking 14 years to hit the cinemas. This movie also introduces their infant, Jack Jack, and his powers and is supposed to be true to the franchise.
5. Race 3
After the incredible success of Race and Race 2, this Bollywood action packed movie will no doubt be another Box Office hit, what with its stellar cast and performances. It is a crime-thriller, and moves around a family that is unforgiving and vindictive in its operations. Weaved into this story are elements of love and sex, topped with breathtaking locations.
6. Saat Din Mohabbat In
This is our very own Pakistani movie! Yay! And its releasing this Eid so we must all show this one lots and lots of love!
This movie follows Tipu (Sheheryar Munawar) on his quest to find true love. Mahira Khan is the female lead in this movie and judging by the trailer, the movie has some really funny and witty dialogues! We hope the movie does really well, and that it does justice to portraying Pakistanis on a national and international level!
