Formal events can be really expensive sometimes, with the food and the décor, for even the smallest of family gatherings and birthdays, to give you a bill of at least over 20,000. Whether it’s your kid’s birthday, a bridal shower, a graduation party, or a plain old traditional family dawat, we Pakistanis are bound to spend a lot on food which leaves us with very little to spend on the decoration. But let’s face it, what’s a party without a little bit of decoration. Just imagine how good the pictures would look once you open them months or years later to look back your memories. So here are a few DIY ideas to make your party a little more interesting and fun.
DIY Paper Flowers
Use crepe paper to cut out flower patterns and sew them together with a string to create beautiful vines to hang around the place or to give an ordinary wall a pop of colour.
Balloons may be a decorative item on their own, but if you want to take them a step further, then all you have to do is cut up some crepe paper ribbons and fill them in the balloon before filling it up with air. It brings a more fun element to your balloons
If you have some old glass bottles lying around, then why not use them to decorate your party. Paint them with beautiful colours and add a flower to it as a beautiful decoration.
Glasses into Glamour
Have some glasses that are not a part of any glass set anymore? Why not use them for decoration and apply glue to their bottom and sprinkle glitter on them. Place a candle over them to add extra glamour for a party and if you are experiencing load shedding then you would have a great candle stand too.
Sticky Notes Wall
In order to add colour to your wall temporarily, buy different coloured sticky notes and paste them on your wall.
Black Chalk Board Announcement
A chalkboard is all it takes to announce what the occasion is. Invest in one and use it for all your future parties too.
For a cake, wish the special person with a printed wish that is pasted on top of a skewer.
